Check out this scouting report prepared by a Colorado Rockies scout in 1992 regarding a talented young prospect out of Central High School in Kalamazoo, Mich. named Derek Jeter.

Would like to see A-Rod's. From everything I have heard, he was the perfect specimen and probably had top scores on everything.

Very cool. Amazed at some of the scores he got yet considered an all-star in the qualitative part of the review. Goes to show just how tough these scouts are in their quantitative assessment.

I find it interesting how apparently mediocre his ratings are (even his future ratings are mostly "below average" to "above average"), but how glowing the recommendation is. Kind of makes me wonder what "devastating" looks like if a projected MLB All-Star like Jeter's best category was only rated "very good".
