Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
Former LSU Basketball star and current NBA analyst Shaquille O’Neal had some interesting comments recently about Alabama head coach Nick Saban who coached at LSU from 2000–2004.

Shaq suggested during a recent podcast that if LSU would have paid Nick Saban more money to keep him in Baton Rouge instead of taking the Miami Dolphins head coaching job, then LSU would be at the same level as Alabama right now. Per NBCSports.com:
quote:

“We had him at LSU first. If we would have paid him the money, that would be us right now,” O’Neal said. “Everything’s about money.”

“I am LSU. Love Shaq University. I know everything that goes on on those grounds,” O’Neal went on. “If the Dolphins offered him six [million] and LSU came back and said ‘hey, we’ll offer you 10,’ what do you think he going to do?”

LSU should have given him 10 million?

Spoken by someone who had the opportunity and money to
do just that if he had wanted to do it himself. Yet 11 YEARS
LATER he chimes in. No offense but move on.

Didn't he speak out in favor of Miles live on TV at the aTm game? Now he's saying we could have done better than Miles? Does he really "know everything that goes on on those grounds"?

I wish we'd kept Saban too, but don't get on live TV and act like you think so highly of Les if it isn't true. People acting like they know crap is partially what caused that whole fiasco in the first place.

Hindsight's 20/20, Big Aristotle. But Saban was going NFL at some point and everybody knew it.

But Wilson left for less. Sometimes you want to leave just to go see what else is out there. Money isn't always the biggest factor.
