It was originally reported earlier this month that Miami was looking into options to play either Alabama or LSU in the future, but reports have surfaced on Monday that Miami now wants to play LSU in 2018 instead of Alabama in 2017. Per MiamiHerald.com:
quote:

Though nothing is finalized, UM’s talks with Cowboys Stadium have progressed and all parties are working toward having the Hurricanes open the 2018 season against LSU in Arlington, Tx.

The game would be on a Saturday night and televised nationally.

UM has decided to focus on finalizing that game and has decided against playing Alabama in Atlanta to open the 2017 season.
LSU associate AD Verge Ausberry says theres nothing to the Miami talk...

Sweet! More big games in Dallas. Glad we built such a nice new south end zone for ULM and Northwestern State. Wahoo!

home & home or nothing

Why not a home and home? Hell Miami can't draw at home. The stadium would be half empty for a Miami home game.

I'd love for LSU and Miami to play nearly every year out of conference. Two name schools in recruiting hotbeds? Yes, please

UGA gets to play a home and away with Notre Dame....why can't LSU play any home and aways anymore with big out of conference foes? Big games are out sourced now....

To Hell with Jerry's world. Why can't they play a home-and-home with LSU?!? I'm tired of Texas getting LSU's best OOC games.
