LSU released a statement on Thursday to officially announce the hiring of Bradley Dale Peveto as its new special teams coordinator and defensive assistant.

Here is what Coach Les Miles had to say per LSUSports.net:

“It’s great to have Bradley Dale back at LSU,” Miles said. “He has great experience in both special teams and on defense. He was part of our 2007 national championship team so he understands and knows what it takes to win at the highest level.

”Bradley Dale is also an outstanding recruiter. His ties to Texas along the success he’s had recruiting Georgia will be a benefit to our program.”
Here is what Peveto had to say:

“It’s great to be back at LSU, which I consider the best college football job in the country,” Peveto said. “It’s great to be home. I have a lot of respect for coach Miles and the great job that he’s done here. I love the state of Louisiana, the people, the culture and the tradition of LSU football. IMO a decision based in a large part on recruiting. McGaughey was the recruiter for SE TX. BDP is from that area and has many contacts there. LSU needs to get stronger there, which is one of the richest recruiting areas in the country.

Excellent pick up Coach Miles. Coach P will definitely help with our Linebacker core, North Louisiana and East Texas.

Might be perfectly fine. He might not have been ready for a defensive coordinator spot some years back, but it's been awhile and CLM apparently believes in him.

Nice career comeback for him, at any rate. Most people get one shot only at this level.
