Coach Les Miles got a chance to address the media following LSU's first spring practice this past Saturday. Here is what he had to say about player injuries, Rob Bolden, and competition at the quarterback position:

When asked about injuries for Jermauria Rasco who had surgery on his left shoulder and Corey Thompson who had knee surgery toward the end of the 2013 season:
quote:

"Rasco will be out," Miles said. "If we can get him back late it might be worth it, but not likely. Corey has a better chance, but we're not overly optimistic there either."
When asked about QB Rob Bolden:
quote:

"He is taking some snaps at receiver and it appears to be a pretty good move. He made a couple nice catches today. It will be interesting to see how he preforms"

In regards to the Quarterback competition:
quote:

“The idea that you make the decision early is foolish,” he said. “There’s always going to be that point in time a young guy gains speed late, or an injury makes the decision or the more-veteran guy shows he’s worthwhile.”

“I want them to both, three of which, all the quarterbacks to know, it’s going to be given to no one, earned by the one that plays,” he said.

“The older guys know cadence, there’s some comfort there. We want to allow a quality competitive environment for Brandon Harris and the other quarterbacks. We have to bring Brandon to speed, a comfort of the offense. Let’s have at it, let’s see who is best.”

That's about as much clarity as Miles has provided the media in years.

His interviews still don't mean shite with regard to how things will go with the team, though.
