is reporting that LSU junior safety Jalen Mills will be charged with misdemeanor simple battery according to East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore.
Mills was arrested and originally charged with second degree battery for allegedly punching a woman near his apartment in May and has been suspended from the football team, which begins fall practice Monday.
On Sunday, LSU coach Les Miles said he did not expect Mills or freshman defensive tackle Travonte Valentine to be with the team when practice begins Monday. Valentine's high school transcript is being certified by the NCAA Clearinghouse.
