Former LSU and current NFL Pro Bowl offensive lineman Trai Turner agreed to a four-year extension with the Carolina Panthers last week worth $45 million with $20.5 million guaranteed.

But before he signed the new contract, he wanted to make sure his father was with him in Charlotte to see him sign it.

Trai is a great former Tiger and former Purple Knight. Got to love when a hometown guy does well!! Keep it up Trai!

Unless he paid cash for it, it was likely on his CC which means he didn't really pay for it. This is what's wrong with journalism these days.

Wut? Do you think he just entered the league and had no money? Also, idk many people who pay "cash" for plane tickets anymore.

No uses cash. Everyone pays for items like this with an AMEX or Discover for better miles and cash back. Only drug dealers deal in cash and BTCs.

If he used a CC he likely won't be paying it until he signs the extension, so will be paying for it with extension money. Also, you are a moron.

How many Bama OLman are making what our lastest (2) Turner and Collins are now making? This should be a huge recruiting tool for LSU.

So i guess it was the running backs then, and not the OL shitting the bed when they played Bama.

Oh yes, it is the OL shitting the bed against Bama and only Bama, year after year after year. Makes perfect sense. Or maybe, just maybe, thanks to the archaic predictable offense, the OL was put in a hopeless situation. Few OL in the history of college football could successfully run straight at a Bama DL when the DL knows it's coming.

I thought it was going to be a house or car for one of his family members the way it was worded at first.

First Trai then La'el big ups to LSU OL ... but people swear up and down that Bama puts out better OLineman than us

Not really brother. Just issues with Bland play calling causes execution not to look so great. Nobody questioned our talent.

In the past few years Bama's O line as a whole has been much, much better than LSU's

Grim: What are you smoking? LSU has produced way better talent than Bama has,and not just at O-linemen. LSU's lack of offensive play calling has had the talent looking lackluster. At the pro level, however, it really shows. Most Bama guys don't make it through there first contract. And those that do are usually backups. The few stars, such as Julio and Amari for example, are freaks of nature and were destined to be stars regardless of which school they went to. That's a fact!

Wait. So the 1st purchase AFTER the extension was a plane ticket so his father could see him sign the extension?

My first thought as well

Sounds to me like he and the team bean counters came to an agreement and then he flew his father out to witness him signing the contract. Their attempt at a feel good story got ruined by logistics and technicalities.

He used his credit card. Will pay for it later.
