Freshman defensive tackle Tyler Shelvin is expected to arrive on campus at some point during fall camp as he is still working on complete summer courses, according to coach Ed Orgeron.

Shelvin is LSU’s lone signee that has not enrolled yet. Per The Advocate:
quote:

“I don’t know if he’s going to be cleared by the start of camp, but he should be cleared,” Orgeron said. “His weight is down to 323, last I checked. I got to check every week and make sure. His academics are on course, but then again, he’s not going to be finished with his correspondence courses until the last week of July. That takes, sometimes, two, three (days), a week to be eligible in the clearinghouse. So it may take a week into training camp before he’s ready.”
Shelvin, a 6-3, 323-pound prospect from Lafayette, LA (Northside), was rated as the No. 3 defensive tackle in the country and the No. 1 overall player in the state of Louisiana for the class of 2017, according to ESPN.
