Defensive tackle Bennie Logan is signing a one-year contract, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday, according to a source involved in the move. The deal is for $8 million, with $7.68 million guaranteed, Rapoport added. The Chiefs confirmed the move Tuesday.

"We're excited to add Bennie to our defensive front," Chiefs general manager John Dorsey said in a statement Tuesday. "He's a versatile player whose presence in the middle will allow us flexibility along the line. He'll be a very good addition to our defensive line room."
The Coushatta, La native played at LSU from 2009-2012, and appeared in 30 games during his four years with the Tigers, with 25 starts.

He was selected No. 67 overall by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

I lived in Dallas while he was an Eagle. The Cowboys & Dallas media had a healthy respect for Bennie. They passed on him in the draft to take Gavin Escobar & have paid for it for 4 years.

Sat next to him last year on a flight. He was a good dude. That and we made fun of Landon Collins who was sitting ahead of us.
