Former LSU defensive tackle Travonte Valentine was never able to suit up for the Tigers but there could be a chance he wears an LSU jersey in the future. Per The Advocate.com:
quote:

Valentine, a 6-foot-3 defensive tackle now weighing about 345 pounds, must complete a certain amount of classes this spring and this summer to reach eligibility for the 2016 season — something he’s working toward, he said. Valentine said Auburn and Mississippi State have offered him scholarships. He included LSU on that list, too, saying the Tigers want him back.

“It’s a possibility,” he said Monday. “It’s a 50 percent chance I can return. It’s a lot that’s undecided right now. I’ve got to think about it and talk to my family.”
Valentine, a former four-star prospect from Palm Bay, FL never played in a game at LSU due to ongoing eligibility issues. He also reportedly failed multiple drug tests and missed an excessive amount of class after enrolling at LSU.

He transferred to Arizona Western Junior College where he played only six games before he was arrested for disorderly conduct and ultimately dismissed from the team. The charges were dropped and Valentine transferred to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in January.

Young man needs to grow up. If he has learned his lesson from the Arizona disorderly conduct charge (although dropped), I think LSU should give him one more chance. If he has any more issues in the meantime, now way. On another note, kid appears to either be not that bright academically or too lazy to go to class. Maybe both and if that is the case, LSU should just walk away.

even if he returns, he'll be looking for the "University of Louisiana State." He'll have a hard time finding that place.

We've had presidents both republicans and democratics admit to drug use and DUIs. Hell we had a vice president shoot a man in the face, but we give them another chance, so why are we so hard on certain types of kids who make mistakes while just being athletes not president?

"6-foot-3 defensive tackle now weighing about 345 pounds" Sounds like he would make for a great NG in Dave Aranda's 3-4 system.

"People make mistakes then grow and learn from them... I think the scientific word is mature" ...... And when a guy gets in trouble at two schools in 6 months, it's called a pattern. And expecting him to have "matured" in 6 months is called naive.

Coming from the same guy who tweeted how happy he was to finally be cleared and enrolled at LSU, only to have the SID jump in and say, "uh,no you haven't."

FournetteForEver7 You think he would have learned after the first time at LSU but he got in trouble in Arizona. Once is a mistake, more than once is a problem

Calitigerhb if LSU dismissed him and are possibly interested in bringing back then they see him as someone who is trying to fix himself. LSU wont take the risk of being embarrassed twice with valetine

Sounds like we're better off without him. He's gonna come here and get in trouble anyways.
