Malik Newman, the No. 1 shooting guard in the country for the class of 2015, spoke with the media after Monday's McDonald's All American practice in Chicago and talked about how LSU commits Ben Simmons and Antonio Blakeney are trying to recruit him to Baton Rouge. Per 247Sports:
quote:

"They (Simmons and Blakeney) talk to me a lot about it (coming to LSU) ," said Newman. "I think right now the biggest thing they are telling me is they are missing a point guard."

When asked to elaborate on what exactly the duo is saying to him, Newman had this reply.

"Come in and they’d give me the keys. I can run the show. Let me do my thing. And we all get in and out."
Newman, a 6'3'', 175-pound prospect from Jackson, MS is expected to choose between Kentucky, Kansas, Mississippi State and LSU.

You can watch Newman, Simmons and Blakeney play this Wednesday during the 38th McDonald's All American Game in Chicago, IL. The game will be televised starting at 8pm on ESPN.

I personally don't see any freshmen coming in and being a great point guard. Score a lot of points yeah. But sacrifice your game so your teammates can score, especially if you want to jump to the NBA the next year, not happening! And yes you can't blame them as individuals for wanting a good job that pays a lot of money. But likewise you can't blame the fans for being disgusted with having players treat them as a farm club for the NBA. I think all college sports, but especially basketball, are falling off in popularity because of this.

People go to college to find jobs, not because they love to study. These guys are no different. Good luck to them.

That's what this game has come to. "In and out" is the new norm for college basketball. Glad LSU has two of the best coming in. Next year should be fun.

Josh Gray & TQ are not happy about those comments...

Also, "we get in and get out" makes it seem like they are there for a quick trip to the grocery store :(

"we all get in and out" Does that imply 1 and done? I'd take it for a NC
