Per LSUSports.net: OMAHA, Neb. -- Trailing throughout its College World Series opener, the No. 4-seed LSU Baseball team put together a two-run eighth-inning and battled past Florida State, 5-4, to win its 17th-straight game Saturday night in TD Ameritrade Park Omaha.

Wow! Great comeback! Poche coming out of the pen to set the record! Could take sole possession with another relief appearance! And more importantly, along with Hess and Newman, lock down the back end while Lange and Walker solidify the starting rotation! Manieri doing some serious coaching! Tigers 1st opening game win in Omaha since 09'! Remember that year? Geaux Tigers!

Now that's a good baseball game. Lange didnt have it tonight, but he gave it all he had and kept us in it. Poche and Hess came in and kept them honest, meanwhile some clutch base running and pepper in the proper hits. We did the little things and took advantage of mistakes. Geaux Tigers
