One of my favorites!
by NameWithheld on 2/7/13
I think I am giving this place 5 stars out of respect for the drinks and the half-seafood platter. Whether you get it broiled or fried, it is often more than enough to fill you up with a variety of really well-prepared seafood and a few decent choices of sides. As others have mentioned, this place is nuts after a Saints game, too! I always preferred going to the Bucktown location, but the French Quarter location has been a must for me on every one of my recent visits. Let me also say that the bartenders and servers have always treated me and my friends really well, so if you are thinking of going in when it's crowded and the bar is the only option, you should be good!

Great Evening
by PurpleGoldTiger on 3/4/11
We had a large part of around 14 people, and we were seated within 45 minutes. This was also on a Saturday night the same night as a parade.
Once we were seated, the waitress was very polite and conversed with us the perfect amount. She took drink orders and appetizers.
A major plus was that instead of bread/chips&salsa, Deanie's brings boiled potatoes to the table. Great touch.
The food was delicious. I ate the stuffed flounder, which was very reasonably priced for the quality and amount of food I received. I also had the broiled crab claws as an appetizer, they were delicious.
I would not get the boiled crawfish from there though. Last weekend they were priced around $9.95 a pound. Go with another dish that is just as good.
Overall, Deanie's was a great experience.

Great Fried Seafood
by Slickback on 3/10/10
This restaurant has some of the best fried seafood around. Would be a great place to bring out-of-towners. Nice atmosphere, fair pricing, and good service. Not the best of New Orleans restaurants but well above average, especially for the price.

Good Seafood
by Kcarp on 3/9/10
This place has good Seafood. Everything I have tried at Deanie’s has been good. When you are seated they bring you a bowl of boiled potatoes with butter and crackers. This place is crazy after a Saints game. Bobby Hebert does his radio show from this location and the atmosphere is unreal. I don’t think you can go wrong dining here, one block off of Bourbon.
