We enjoyed a great meal at Clancy’s recently. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was just right for our occasion. Items we enjoyed included:
- Fried oysters with brie (very good)
- Corn and crab bisque (good but not distinctive – Wish I would have ordered the turtle soup.)
- Veal with crayfish and béarnaise (very good)
- Sautéed drum “muddy waters” with grilled shrimp (very good)

Overall, Clancy’s provided our group with an excellent dining experience.

Although the table wasn't available when we arrived for our reservation we were able to order a cocktail at the bar while waiting. Our waiter was very pleasant. The wine was excellent. The sweetbreads appetizer was very good. A couple pieces were a bit over-fried. The veal with crabmeat and bernaise was amazing. So tender. The potatoes served on the side were too salty. Seared tuna was also excellent. Lemon ice box pie was perfect ending.

Ate there on a Friday night. Table wasn't ready upon arrival and we had reservations. Probably spent 20 minutes in the small bar waiting. Took a long time for drinks and an inordinate amount of time between courses. Enjoyed the food very much, though. However, I didn't care for the oysters and brie app that so many people rave over. The brie overpowered the oysters. The oysters were delicious and fried just right, for me. I picked off the cheese. Had a soft shell crab dish that was excellent. Lemon ice box pie is the best I've ever had.

Veal was amazing and saw James Carville there.

I have always heard wonderful things about this place and we went last week and we were extremely disappointed. Food was okay, portions very small and the service was slow and stuffy. I'm going to give it one more try, but if what happened last time is the norm I will not be back.
