Phil's Grill's offers 11 different Signature Burgers, but the real treat is the option to build your own burger. With a list of ingredients that boasts ONE MILLION different combinations, the options are endless. They offer standard meats such as 100% Black Angus, Hot Sausage Blend, Ground Turkey or Chicken and meatless selections of a Homemade Veggie burger or a Portobello Mushroom. Premium choices include Bison, Alligator, Tuna and Lamb. Six different types of buns, Twenty One sauces, Thirteen standard toppings, Eleven premium toppings and Twelve different types of cheeses. They also offer Ten different sides ranging from fries(cheese optional) to chili or salads to veggies(grilled or steamed). And if all that isn't enough, they also offer an option to build your burger in a bowl with all the toppings and fixings, for those of you who don't wish to have a bun.

On my two recent visits there, I chose the Black Angus which was cooked perfectly to order and was juicy and flavorful. I wrapped it in a white bread bun and topped it with shredded cheddar cheese, lettuce and pickles. I also chose the premium bacon topping which was thick, crispy and tasty. Put all together, this was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Not too big, but not too small. Juicy and flavorful. Crisp and fresh lettuce and pickles. In my opinion it tops the burger from that place on the edge of the French Quarter, to which all other burgers in the NOLA area are compared. I chose cheese fries on my first visit and the fried onion strings on my return visit. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful.

I would recommend to anyone looking for a good burger to visit Phil's Grill in Metairie, Hammond or Mandeville and enjoy a tasty creation the likes of which you can have made to order in virtually ANY way you'd like it.
