4 Stars for What it Is
by Gris Gris on 8/24/12
Went for the first time since Kevin Kimball became an owner. Service was spot on. The servings are extremely generous. We had fried green tomatoes for an app. Could have fed 4 people with those, at least. I had the shrimp and grits. Grits were some of the best I've had. Creamy and delicious. Plenty of shrimp and the sauce was rich and tasty. Friend had the filet. It came out sizzling and I had a few bites. Perfectly medium rare with an excellent sear. Very very good. Another had the grilled chicken Caesar salad. It was huge. She barely made a dent in it. Said it was fine as far as taste. Shared some creme brulee. Very good version.
Best Thing Since Tailgating at Tiger Stadium

Great food and terrific Tiger atmosphere. It doesn't get any better than that.
Love this place

If I'm passing through Baton Rouge, I'm stopping at TJ Ribs. This place is awesome. I get the babyback or the select ribs. That spicy BBQ sauce you can add is awesome.

My family and I have eaten here many times! TJ Ribs on Acadian has the best Ribs in Baton Rouge! Love It!
TJ's for Babybacks
by Icansee4miles on 8/17/11
Have been eating their ribs since they opened. While the St. Louis ribs and brisket are also good, the babybacks are the tops in my book. Sides are a tough choice, as beans, mojo's (fried potato chunks) and sweet potato (counts as 2 sides) are all excellent. Cole slaw is also good-not sweet, and full of dry roasted peanuts (if you like them, they are a good addition). Service generally friendly and helpful, but can expect a wait during their busy lunch hour or when there are events on campus.
Very good brisket

I always get the brisket because it is so good I never have tried anything else.

I've eaten there several times and always got the babyback ribs. They're always seasoned and cooked perfectly, very tender, and falling off the bone.
Service is always exceptional--very friendly and attentive.
Whenever I want ribs, this is where I go.
Won’t be disappointed!

Was there last week and the food and service was great. Ribs were cooked and seasoned just right. A great place for family and friends.

Hadn't been to TJs in a while, and took family there after reading some good reviews. Burgers are great! Cooked as requested and even bun was delicious. 2 in party had ribs and 1 had brisket salad - all enjoyed meal. Will return soon.

Baby backs, mojos and slaw. Is there anything better? no. As good as gold.

I hadn't been to TJ Ribs in years and it really wasn't on my food radar until the sponsorship thread a few weeks back. My family had burgers at the Acadian location last night and they were great. The sourdough bun was very good, as was the quality of the meat. Plus, I asked for my burger to be cooked medium and they got it right. I was impressed with the burger.
A sure thing

A must-do place for LSU and visiting SEC fans, with all the memorabilia, including Cannon's Heisman. The ribs are great, and the loaded baked potato is a meal in itself. Service is always professional and the atmosphere is versatile as a sports bar or for casual business clientele.

baby back ribs and mojos!
try with the sauce sitting at the tables!
they also have delicious spinach and artichoke dip (with which i also recommend using the dipping sauce)

Filet is fantastic. Great cut and cooked perfect. One of the best kept secrets in town.
