The Greatness of Besh
by Athanatos on 2/2/13
I enjoy most of Besh's restaurants. They are all good, while some venture into the great. Borgne falls into the latter category. I have eaten there several times since its opening, and I have greatly enjoyed it. The staff is typically very knowledgeable about the menu as well as on the general goings-on of New Orleans, and the entrees are very good. Both the stuffed flounder and fish in a bag impress, and the deviled crabs are pretty good. The appetizers are okay here, but the happy hour at Borgne has $0.50 crawfish croquetas. They are very good, and the duck poppers are wrapped in bacon. It's very difficult to mess that up. They also have housemade Hubig's pies with fresh Ponchatoula strawberries, and they are amazing. The hazelnut pudding is also delicious. In sum, there is a lot on the menu to entice Besh-lovers, and its location is fantastic for pre-Saints or Hornets games meals.
