Louisiana Tech football finished the 2012 season with a strong 9–3 record, but the Bulldogs will not be going to a bowl because the organizers of the Independence Bowl did not leave LTU enough time to make a decision between their game and others. This according AD Bruce Van De Velde. That hesitance left the Bulldogs out of the postseason picture entirely. Former Louisiana Tech basketball and NBA star Karl Malone took to Twitter on Sunday night after news and was not happy...
quote:

"I am Bulldog to the core, I am heart broken and embarrassed that our university would do this to Tech Nation. To our football and staff this is exactly what is wrong with our university. Now it's time to get former athletes to run our program. I'm 6"9 and not hard to find. Whoever made this desicision have the balls to tell the guys why. As one alumni of LaTech I want to know why."

Bruce Van Delvede is a terrible AD. He was bad at Iowa State and he has gotten no better.

It is a shame. No excuse for not letting this team play a bowl game. They earned it.

The worst part besides reward for players and fans is the rule that they can't have the extra practices that are allowed for bowl teams only.

Let's not forget, the Mailman has a history of getting things done the hard way.

Remember he wrestled Hulk Hogan on pay per view?
