After USC lost 21-7 to Georgia Tech in the Sun Bowl, reports surfaced that an altercation involving 10 to 15 Trojan players broke out in the locker room, and now it seems that the reports are true. From the LA Daily News...
quote:

The incident started when some freshmen questioned the leadership of the team’s seniors and whether they gave 100 percent effort for the Sun Bowl. This led to an argument that eventually escalated according to witnesses.

“It was one of the worst things I’ve seen in a locker room,” said a player who did not wish to be identified.

Freshman offensive tackle Zach Banner did not wish to discuss the incident but said, “It’s going to be a whole new family atmosphere next season and you can quote me on that. For the seniors, it’s terrible.”

Three days before he was scheduled to arrive on USC’s campus as an early enrollee on Jan. 10, defensive end Kylie Fitts (Rivals’ seventh-best defensive end in the Class of 2013) was told that his scholarship was no longer available for the spring semester.

The Trojans’ did not pull Fitts’ scholarship entirely but rather deferred him to the fall. But since Fitts had already graduated from Redlands (CA) East Valley High School, he would have had no place to go until the start of USC’s fall camp this summer.

“He said to me, ‘What am I supposed to do for the next five months?’ ” Pitts’ high school coach, Kurt Bruich, told Yahoo! Sports’ Graham Watson. “It seems shady. I think it seems shady to everyone.”

As a result, Fitts has decommitted from the Trojans and is now considering Notre Dame, Washington and UCLA.

John Canzano of The Oregonian believes that coach Chip Kelly, who even visited with the Pats this offseason, is holding out to be New England's coach...
quote:

“ (he) absolutely wants is the [job] currently held by 60-year-old three-time Super Bowl champion head coach Bill Belichick, who is as close to Kelly in his monomaniacal drive and ultimate hands-on style as there is in sports.” After all, it’s “the dream gig of every little kid who grows up in New England,” as Canzano points out, while adding that ”Belichick has unique control of Robert Kraft‘s franchise in the same way Kelly does at Oregon.”
