As Tommy Tuberville and his Cincinnati coaching staff were carefully watching the Bearcats’ fax machine for letters of intent they got a surprise fax. Apparently, an intrepid Texas Tech fan faxed Tuberville the menu from the 50 Yard Line Steakhouse in Lubbock, the restaurant where he allegedly ditched a group of TTU recruits at a dinner the night before he was introduced as Cincy’s new coach.
The fan included a note along with the menu that read...
quote:

“Was thinking of you … We will miss you … Here is an intent letter to remember us by.”

Tommy Tuberville was eating dinner with Texas Tech recruits and Red Raiders assistant coaches at 50-Yard Line Restaurant last week when he abruptly got up. What happened next will surely go down in recruiting lore...
quote:

“The waitress brought our food out, and we thought (Tuberville) went to the bathroom, but he never came back to dinner. Then next thing I know, the next day, he made an announcement that he’s going to Cincinnati.”

Texas Tech athletics spokesman Blayne Beal confirmed Tech coaches did take players to dinner that night, which he said is a common occurrence on visits by recruits, but was unaware of any incidents that happened at dinner.

The next morning the recruits were scheduled to take a tour of the campus, but Tuberville did not show up for it, Danzey said. That’s when offensive line coach Chris Thomsen, who was named interim head coach Monday, came back to the group and broke the news Tuberville had been named the new head coach at Cincinnati.
Stay classy Tommy.

Texas Tech coach Tommy Tuberville has been accused in a lawsuit of defrauding investors out of more than $1.7 million in Alabama following his tenure at Auburn.
quote:

"A federal lawsuit filed Friday in Montgomery, Ala., names Tuberville, John David Stroud and eight investment entities as defendants, claiming the two men "employed devices, schemes, and artifices to defraud" seven plaintiffs from Arkansas, Alabama and Tennessee.

The suit claims Tuberville and Stroud misappropriated assets, and falsified client statements and fund performance reports as they "unjustly enriched themselves" at the expense of the investors."
This comes after the recent news of his wife's car accident investigation. Yikes, rough times at the Tuberville house.
