The New York Post is reporting that Dan Marino fathered a love child with a former CBS production assistant in 2005. He also paid her millions as part of a confidentiality agreement.
quote:

The married gridiron great — a pregame analyst for CBS since 2003 who will be doing this Sunday’s Super Bowl broadcast — sired a love child with a network underling and then paid her millions to keep quiet, sources have exclusively told The Post.

The ex-Miami Dolphin QB — who has long had an image as one of pro sports’ most squeaky-clean guys — knocked up Donna Savattere, a then-35-year-old production assistant at CBS Sports’ Manhattan studio.
Marino acknowledged what happened in a statement.
quote:

“This is a personal and private matter. I take full responsibility both personally and financially for my actions now as I did then,” he told The Post in a written statement. “We mutually agreed to keep our arrangement private to protect all parties involved.”

In 2006, the Miami Dolphins and Nick Saban had a choice to make between Drew Brees, who was recovering from a shoulder injury, and Daunte Culpepper, who was recovering from a knee injury. The Dolphins signed Culpepper and the rest is history. When Saban was on Dan LeBetard‘s radio show recently, he talked about what happened...
quote:

“We chose Drew Brees. I’ve never ever talked about this publicly,” said Saban, according to the show’s Twitter feed. “That’s the guy we made the first offer to. A lot of players know this. There was a lot of loyalty in the organization and players never talked about it.”

It’s been well known the Dolphins brought Brees in for a physical during the offseason, but it’s never been stated publicly that Miami made the now Super Bowl-winning quarterback a contract offer.

“We thought Drew Brees was an outstanding player and that’s who we made the first offer to,” Saban said, according to the Sun Sentinel “Quite frankly, you know, he didn’t pass the physical with our organization so we had to go in another direction and there was nothing any of us could do about that.”

Why is Saban suddenly talking about this? Hmmm...

The Jets play the Dolphins again this Sunday which means Jets safety and former LSU Tiger LaRon Landry will have another chance to lay out Reggie Bush. During Week 3, Bush suffered a knee injury late in the first half after Landry drove his helmet into his knee. Landry told the New York Post
quote:

“He will remember that hit,” “Every time he sees me, he’ll remember the hit if I’m in the box or coming downhill, he will remember that hit.”

“Just watch the way he runs,” Landry said. “We’ll see when he comes out here this Sunday. I’m not going to overtalk it and make a story.”

Landry will try to avoid the personal fouls that he was penalized with at the start of the season. But he’s not changing his style of play.

“If I get penalized, I’m not going to stop head hunting,” Landry said. “I’m not going to stop the way I play.”
And for your enjoyment here is a compilation of LaRon Landry kill shots...
