Ex-Washington State star wide receiver Marquess Wilson has just a slightly different version of the events that led to his departure from the Cougars this week. In a statement issued Sunday, Wilson alleged that head coach Mike Leach and his staff are subjecting his players to "physical, emotional and verbal abuse," causing him to leave Wazzu. Earlier this week, Leach announced that Wilson had been suspended indefinitely.

Speaking at the 2012 Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Clinic a few months back, Urban Meyer used Washington State Mike Leach to make a point...
quote:

“Mike Leach is a certified nut job. Everybody knows Mike Leach, right? He’s a certified … great friend of mine; out of his damn mind,” Meyer said in the speech. “Weird. Never plays, attorney, genius kind of guy. I learned so much from him two years ago. I had him come up and speak to our staff. We’re not gonna do what he does on staff. We don’t believe in it.
“I mean, this is the most bizarre s*** you’ve ever seen. However, what I did learn from him … he’s not gonna change what he does. He’s gonna throw it every down. Some people do that. Every down.”
You can watch it here at the 44:35 mark. Seems Urban's greatest tool as a coach is calling other people out.

We all remember a few years ago when former Texas Tech coach Mike Leach got fired for disciplining Craig James' son Adam by putting him in a shed, yes? Well, in an interview conducted by his daughter, Craig doesn't go into details about what exactly went down, but does call Leach a "bully" a few times. Watch it here.

Peter Berg, director of films like Friday Night Lights and The Kingdom, has plans to make a documentary series about Washington State coach Mike Leach for HBO. Berg met Leach while shooting the Friday Night Lights TV show. Berg told Broadcasting & Cable...
quote:

"I assume HBO will go for it because it will be really good," Berg tells B&C. "I don't know why they wouldn't." "I was just fascinated with him,"

Berg had gotten to know Leach over the years after reaching out to him following a 60 Minutes story and a New York Times Magazine story. Berg brought him in for a Friday Night Lights cameo, and Leach actually came to Hollywood for a month to live with Berg two years ago and observe Hollywood."
I'm all for this if it's about how weird and entertaining Leach is, but otherwise...who cares?
