Kansas’ Charlie Weis is defending Oklahoma coach Stoops' comments that the SEC’s dominance of college football is overblown. Stoops stated that the bottom teams of the Big 12 were better and more competitive than their counterparts in the SEC. Weis told espn.com...

“I’m just sayin’, you look at the bottom of our league and the bottom of their league, just going based off the numbers, there’s validity in what he said,” “I’m just going based off the numbers, I mean, I’m a numbers guy. Just based off the numbers, you’d have to say he’s got a point.”

Head coach Will Muschamp announced on Monday morning that former Gators QB Chris Leak had been hired as a quality control assistant with the program. While Leak’s duties have not yet been divulged, they will more likely than not be rooted in film preparation and breakdown and other game preparation duties.

Leak was MVP of Florida’s 41–14 rout of Ohio State in the 2007 BCS title game, Leak was also a two-time Second Team All-SEC honoree (2004 and 2006) and holds school records for career completions (895), attempts (1,458) and yards (11,213).

Nick Saban responded to Oklahoma’s Bob Stoops blasting the SEC the way he usually does - by not responding...
quote:

“I didn’t even know he said it, so you’re going to have to tell me what he said,” he told reporters during an event in Fort Payne, AL, on Thursday. “I’ve got more important things to do than sit around and read what Bob Stoops has to say about anything. But I like Bob Stoops, and I respect him as a coach, but I’m really trying to manage our business.”
Later he went on to say...
quote:

“I think there’s probably a lot of animosity out there because of the success that we have in our league, but I think that kind of goes with the territory. I understand that. But we certainly respect the great program that they have at Oklahoma and the other good programs that they have in the Big 12.”

Here is a pic of a Mother's Day card that was tweeted by Olive Branch, Mississippi’s offensive tackle Chase Johnson (6-4, 260). According to the 247Sports.com crew, Mullen is the only SEC coach recruiting Johnson. However it's also worth noting that Johnson doesn’t even have an offer from Mullen yet.
