New Tennessee coach Butch Jones and his staff sent 102 letters to Tennessee recruit Stanton Truitt. Truitt told ESPN the following regarding the letters...

“When I went to open it (his mailbox), it would not budge. I pulled it down, and then some of the letters were hanging out, but they were all tied together by a rubber band.

“I was thinking there was no way these came from the same school. But I kept pulling on them and I thought the mailbox was going to break, but when I got them out I found out that all 102 of them were from Tennessee! It was crazy.”

Truitt said that the letters were inspirational, and each letter would say something different like “Stanton, we love you,” or “Vol Nation.”

Troy Wills, the former strength coach for the University of Tennessee men’s basketball team, was arrested this week after breaking into an office at Tennessee’s Thompson-Boling Arena last Saturday. Wills was charged with burglary and vandalism. He had keys, but when they didn’t work he used a saw. Here are the details via GoVolsXtra...

"The warrant said Wills, using a saw, broke into the office of Bill Whitesell, a UT event management director, then “ransacked” the room, causing $750 in damages to university property, and took $4,150 in cash from Whitesell’s desk. The incident was reported to police Saturday afternoon.

Police say video shows Wills walking down a Thompson-Boling Arena hallway “with what appears to be a saw in his hand” and “attempting to hide (the saw) underneath his coat” at 3:53 a.m. Saturday. The affidavit said he was next seen on camera leaving at 4:31 a.m.
