Bret Bielema’s top recruit is in limbo. Alex Collins, a four-star running back from Plantation, Florida, committed to Arkansas over Miami on Monday. It seems his mother did not agree with the decision. Collins missed his scheduled ceremony. ESPN is reporting this was because his mother took his National Letter of Intent and left the school.

Will Gilbert, sports editor for The Sun-Times in Heber Springs, Arkansas, has some lingering bitterness toward Gus Malzahn apparently. The new Auburn coach tweeted how nice it was to see Cam Newton on campus taking classes. Gilbert retorted on twitter by tweeting a crude comment about Malzahn’s wife liking “Cammy Cam” juice and telling him to “stay out of Arkansas.” Hoping for his sake that is a fake account…

Former Tennessee offensive coordinator Jim Chaney was hired by new Razorbacks coach Bret Bielema on Wednesday night. The former St. Louis Rams assistant spent the last four seasons with the Volunteers and was the team's interim head coach for their season finale this season following the firing of former coach Derek Dooley.

Wisconsin defensive coordinator Chris Ash will follow former Badgers coach Bret Bielema to Arkansas. Ash worked under Bielema with the Badgers for the past three seasons, including the last two as co-defensive coordinator. He'll remain with the team through its Rose Bowl appearance against Stanford.

On the same day former Wisconsin football coach Bret Bielema became the new head coach at Arkansas, a photo of the hefty fellow flaunting his bobbies at some unknown pool bar happens to be circulating the internet. Coincidence?
