LSU received disappointing news today when they were not selected to a regional in the NCAA baseball tournament. LSU ends the season with a record of 36-20. Discuss the news on the Tiger Rant forum.
The LSU Baseball team will find out soon if their season will be extended for at least one more week. The Tigers (36-20) will be vying for one of 64 spots in the 16 Regionals. Teams will be announced on Monday at 11:30am CT on ESPN.

Despite having a losing record in the SEC and not getting invited to the SEC Tournament, LSU still has a strong chance to make a regional due to its high RPI ranking (No. 23).

Some writers are predicting that LSU will be the No. 3 seed in either the College Station or Houston Regionals. Stay tuned...
LSU outfielder Mikie Mahtook was named First Team All-SEC by a vote of the league’s 12 head baseball coaches. He was also named to the All Defensive team. Mason Katz was named Second Team All-SEC, and both JaCoby Jones and Ty Ross were named to the All Freshman Team. Click here for complete results.
Per LSUsports.net: Freshman right-hander Ryan Eades earned his first SEC victory Saturday and designated hitter Raph Rhymes collected three hits, including a two-run homer in the eighth inning, to lead LSU to a 6-3 win over Mississippi State at Dudy Noble Field. Click here for complete story.

LSU completed the regular season with an overall record of 36-20 (13-17 in the SEC). The Tigers will have to wait until May 30 to see if they are invited to an NCAA Regional.
Mississippi State scored two runs in the bottom of the 9th inning to beat LSU, 6-5. The Tigers fell to 35-20 on season and 12-17 in the SEC. Game 3 of the series will be at 2pm CT today. Click here for complete story.

With the loss, LSU was eliminated from contention for an SEC Tournament bid. However, the Tigers can still receive a bid to an NCAA Regional, which will be announced on May 30.
