IT'S GAME DAY: No. 4 LSU versus No. 1 FloridaNo. 4 LSU (5-0, 3-0) will face the No. 1 Florida Gators (4-0, 2-0) in Tiger Stadium on Saturday, October 10th. The game, which will be televised nationally by CBS, will kickoff at 7:10 pm CT. The game has been designated as the Gold Game, and all LSU fans are encouraged to wear gold shirts.

ESPN's College GameDay crew will be in Baton Rouge this weekend and will broadcast live beginning at 9 am CT from the Parade Grounds.

This will be the 56th meeting between the two programs. Florida leads the overall series, 29-23-3. LSU has won four of the last seven meetings.

LSU and Florida bring the highest combined ranking for a game in Tiger Stadium since October 31, 1959 when No. 1 LSU hosted No. 3 Ole Miss. It also marks the second straight year that LSU will host the nation's No. 1 ranked team (LSU played No. 1 Alabama last year). LSU is 2-8-1 all-time against teams ranked No. 1 in the AP Poll, including a 28-21 victory over No. 1 Florida in 1997.

I always thought the series was more lopsided in favor of Florida. Glad the record is a lot closer.

They won 13 of 14 from 1988 to 2001, which swung the series to their favor...

Awesome quotes from Dickson & Ciron about the on-field puking.

20 yrs ago today was the night the officials put one second back on the clock as the Gators got to kick a field goal to win 16-13 in what turned out to be Galen Hall's last game for Florida. It was pretty much this game that propelled the NCAA to institute the 'spiking' rule the next year as Florida's QB threw a pass out of bounds to attempt to stop the clock on the penultimate play.

I was at that game ( drove from Gainesville). And I've never heard a louder stadium. In spite of the loss, the fans and campus were very gracious and we felt welcome to party afterword. I hope the same happens following this years game, whatever the turnout.

Tigers don't have what it takes if Tebow is on the field.

Obviously, you are picking LSU to win in either case???

Tebow makes all the difference. If he's out our chances of winning go to 50/50. If he's in and 100% I'd say 10-20% LSU.

What's the line? 3 points for Florida? On the road. BR Saturday night. That's all Tebow.

FWIW...I just talked to Zee....Coop said if Tebow plays, it will be only for 3rd and shorts and game changing plays. Brantley will be your starter. Not saying this is definite, but this is what Tebow's roommate said.

I would kindly disagree with that statement. Tebow has played in big games but Brantley has never started a game. Having his first start on the road in front of 93,000 crazy cajuns might be a little intimidating for him IMO.

Until LSU can get to the QB with any kind of pass rush, it won't matter Brantley or Tebow is taking snaps. Aren't they 125 in Div 1 in sacks?

You Tigers are counting on Brantley being a wuss. I hope you don't really believe this. he wasn't recruited only to back up Tim. You will be very suprised at his poise in the pocket. In spite of your thinking, Florida is MUCH more than Tim Tebow!!!!
