Attorneys for Anne Breaud, the woman against whom Mayor LaToya Cantrell filed a temporary restraining order last week, have filed a counter-claim in Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

Cantrell claimed Breaud was following her and had handed over multiple photos and videos of her to Fox 8 WVUE-TV. Justin Schmidt, Breaud's attorney, said in the claim that Breaud has never followed or harassed the mayor, and Breaud seconded that in an affidavit sworn into the record. Breaud said she has never contacted Cantrell nor has she shared any photographs or videos of her with news outlets.

"Cantrell has no legitimate and justiciable claims against defendant Anne Breaud, and Cantrell's underlying suit is nothing more than failed strategic filing in an attempt to restrain the defendant Breaud from engaging in constitutionally protected conduct," Schmidt wrote.

Cantrell and Breaud are set to appear in court at 9 a.m. Monday for hearings on the two separate pleadings. Cantrell's administration didn't immediately respond to an email requesting comment.

How can latoya be in court on Monday? I’m sure she will still be on the way to some exotic place.

That's what I was thinking. Seems like I saw on here she was in Qatar.

She will just ask the airline to bump her flight up to an earlier departure at the maximum fees and cost of course paid for by the city.

Unless by now she has Elite airline status and will get bumped to an earlier flight in a first class couples pod to join the mile high club over the Atlantic.

How can Cantrell say she was threatened when she has her security guard with her?
There also was no confrontation.
She is also a public figure in a public place.

These lawsuits are going to open Cantrell up to discovery which could bring about some interesting facts that she might not want known…

Would a restraining order like this be considered a Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation (SLAPP)?

The courts REALLY don’t like that shite.

What's better than First Class? Flying privately.
