I can’t take some of the old controllers seriously. They look like something you’d use to pick out your Thai hooker.

Fairchild System

Although before that I played on a keyboard on a typewriter that could dial into a mainframe. You would type directions line N, S, E, and W and other directions like [I]nventory, [D]rop item, etc. Then the mainframe would print out a description of where you were in the dungeon.

I started with 2.

I remember seeing a broken Atari controller when I was really young and asked my mom why the handle was broken....she told me to ask my dad. So I went and asked him...he said that he was trying to move the 'thing' (he was playing space invaders if i remember correctly) to the left and it wasn't moving fast enough so he "made that piece of shite move left" and broke the joystick off.

I had pre-1 pong and some joystick my dad made.

Colecovision and Intellivison bring back some memories. Never had either but played them in department stores and less-poor friends’ houses.

But I also had Colecovision with the overlays. This one is for the game "Mouse Trap" that came with the system.
