They definitely are. My buddy was so fed up with him during last years regional against UL and he ran into him in Seattle when the the Cajuns played Washington. He asked him what his deal was, and the guy basically admitted he’s being paid to be out there.

Yeah after the Cajuns won the regional in BR last year, we thought we didn’t have to see him again only for him to wear a different purple and gold to Washington for the Super Regional.

Maybe we may see him at an East Carolina baseball regional next. They wear purple and gold too.

bullshite. If the team and coaches “loved” him and think he’s some kind of asset, he’d be shown all over their social media pages. They are radio silent on giving him visibility.

He went to Washington as Kelly Lynch (now at LSU) is from his hometown. He went to support her, which is commendable.

His family and sister are wonderful people. I spoke with his father who works with the sheriff's office in Atlanta area, at the SEC Championship Game in 2019. It was a very enjoyable conversation and made me very happy to have seen him on my walk to the stadium.

That doesn't change my opinion of him though

For a recent baseball game, he apparently couldn't get a ticket behind home plate, so he sat behind the dugout.

He just sat and watched. Didn't jump up with every pitch. Didn't holler and scream. He simply sat there and watched, and didn't seem especially interested.

He doesn't care unless he can be on television. He's a trained mascot, just like an organ grinder's monkey. The people who actually believe he's a fan are incredibly naive.

I don’t know if he still does, but at one time he had a website where he billed himself as the “super fan” who would come cheer for your team for a fee. He was trying to sell merchandise, etc. I suppose general managers and athletic directors didn’t bite because as far as I know, that fell flat. But yeah, he really thought he was going to parlay that attention he got from ESPN a few years ago into a big money making gig.

I thought Woodward had all he needed to ban him in the loss to the Cajuns in the regional last year when he pulled that stunt of jumping on top of the railing, then climbing up the fence behind the plate. He was desperate to “bring back the magic.” But yes, people are naive if they think it’s about being an “LSU fan.” He’d be anybody’s dog that would hunt with him.

The combo of the old mid south wresting belt , big sunglasses and his Aladdin vest makes me afraid.

Cannot even believe people on this board are defending him. He’s a paid actor and has 0 passion or loyalty to LSU. He just wants to be on camera as much as possible. He’s advertised doing the same for other programs if they pay.

Who is paying him? You saying LSU pays him to be there?

He seems to be a polarizing figure, haha. I figure if Beth didn’t like what he was doing LSU would probably put a stop to it. He is definitely out of the box in his behavior.

The Softball Clown behind Home Plate continues to be an annoying Clown because none of you candy asses will get in his face and tell him anything.

By all means, please complain more on the Internet though.

That will show the Softball Attention Whore who's Boss.......

I think the guy is an asset to LSU softball!
Wouldn't it be boring as hell if he simply sat there an watched the game with no emotion or the passion he brings?
I find him entertaining...and his form of "cheerleading" fits in well with the antics that the teams always seem to display. In fact, maybe Beth needs a little shot of what he's taking!

His name is Deangelo Sanchez. He’s 37 years old from Georgia and went to Auburn. He’s been a “die hard” LSU fan since he was 29 years old when in 2016 his younger sister played softball.

Supporting his sister makes sense. He now does it because he absolutely loves the attention.

They are two completely different stadiums
