That grand slam by Tommy Tanks clinched a regional invitation for the Tigers no matter what happens in Hoover — book it

It’s foolish to count on 11 SEC teams getting in and it will be a really tough argument to try and out LSU in above 3 teams that beat them in a series. Need to have a big week in Hoover unfortunately

LSU may be a 3 seed, but I'd take a 3 seed in the Indiana St regional versus a 2 seed at UNC.

Wouldn't we get sent to furthest away regional possible as is tradition when we don't host?

That would send us out to Corvallis.

They are NOT going to leave a borderline LSU sitting at home.

The committee does that to LSU every time except 2021

Probably, but at this point beggers can't be choosers.

I think we need to hope Bama loses today

It helps the way we finished the 2nd half of the season. Winning 5 of the last 6 series and sweeping Ole Miss doesn’t hurt.

Don't think this is true.

I mean unless Bama loses to Auburn and finishes 12-18 then fine we’d be the 10 seed. I said in OP if all those teams finished 13-17 though we’d be the 11 seed which is true.

If we lose today then we’re locked in as the 11 seed no matter what.

And that was because it was the Paul Mainieri Farewell Tour.

Yeah but that contradicts your title. Win or lose they are not 100% locked into the 10 seed.

11 teams ain't happening.

LSU will be in. No way they keep a team out that has won 4 of 5 series down the stretch, and only an errant throw on a routine game ending play kept them from winning the last 5. This is why there is 35% of teams with 13 wins....for teams that were hot coming in. Also, LSU will have an rpi around 29-30.....do you think they are one of the top 30 teams in the country right now? I do. They are in.

What other SEC teams are you leaving out? They all beat us head to head and have better RPI's. South Carolina? they have lost a lot of SEC series in a row.

aren't they now 2 games over .500? Why would they throw the game...if they win it they are 3 games above .500 and safe.

Yes they will. The SEC will have way more as 2 seeds than 3.

what 5-6 2 seeds you think are coming from the SEC?

Miss St will prob host
UF is barely .500
LSU is lucky just to make it into a regional at all
Vandy was a projected 3 seed coming into this weekend and lost their weekend series

USC and Bama are the only 2s I expect to see. Hopefully SEC gets 11 teams in and if so Vandy, UF and LSU would be 3 seeds.

All of those other 13-17 teams have higher RPIs and all except one that didn’t play us beat LSU head to head. I hope you are right but I just don’t see the reasoning when taking a step back and trying to look from an unbiased perspective.

Bama

Also....not sure that is only criteria. LSU is a much different team now than the first half of the season, and bad luck cost them from winning 5 series in a row and 11-4 second half. I'm not following all those teams, but I would imagine that some have had a rough second half of the season, with LSU clearly playing better now. JMO

Bama is even money at Auburn tonight. No guarantee.

Not biased, I just think LSU is playing better ball than a few of those teams down the stretch and I have to think that matters, vs what they were doing early in the year with a bunch of new players.
