Konnor McClain, LSU Freshman. She scored tons of 10s this year to help LSU win the NCAA National Championship.
It is so sad that she is SO talented.

Watching the competition, she is so much better than so many of these athletes.

Saw it. Knees and ankles on vault and Achilles on floor. Not sure what you can do about it.

You prevent Achilles tears but not letting the heel drop. There is actually a group in New Orleans that works with athletes to train that tendency out. Ja’mar Chase and Darrel Williams have worked with them for many years

Fair number of current LSU football players working with them right now.

I haven’t seen the video for McLain but would be surprised if it was caused by the heel dropping. Same pattern over and over when you watch them in slow mo

Wasn't it the Achilles that took out Kiya last year?

Damn. She was such a bright spot on the national championship team last season, and she was a hopeful to compete in the Olympic Games. I hope that she can make a full recovery.

Achilles tear recovery is brutal. Feel so bad for her! First hand experience with it 1 year into my recovery.

How did this happen now of all times after the season is over?

She was competing for a spot at the Olympic trials. She landed short in warm ups. Just really bad luck.

She is one of the best beam workers in the world and a fully hit routine is capable of winning a gold medal on that event
