Cenla is very underrated for golf. Also you forgot to mention a free par 3 course that is in good to very good shape.

You guys keep mentioning the Dakotas without realizing every town with a population over a couple thousand in the eastern half of the state has a local golf course. Golf is plentiful in Sioux Falls and there are some beautiful courses set in the Black Hills on the western side of the state.

How's the golf in Sioux Falls mid February?

It's about the same as it is in mist northern states, non-existent. I did get a couple rounds in February this year though.

makes me glad for the options we have around us here in Branson.
Branson doesn't often get mentioned as a good golf destination, but it really is. Lots of options across a wide price range. Plenty of things to do off the course for the family.

Bass Pro's courses have pushed it to another level. It's funny when you see posts by celebrities, pro golfers and golf influencers that come in to play a round. When Ozark National was being built, I'd see Butch Crenshaw at the Mexican Restaurant taking his dirt crew to lunch.

Yes(especially public golf)but getting better due to some recent news i’ve received about a certain private club in Baton Rouge.

Well? You gotta spill the beans. CCL or U Club going bankrupt? I know it isn’t an issue at BRCC.

Not really fair to throw all of Louisiana under the bus when Monroe area has some legit courses. I love playing BDCC. Great course, very well maintained, good views of the bayou, decent practice area and not super crowded except during select times. Squire is in a league of its own and probably difficult to even justify belonging to both unless you got stupid money. Then there is Calvert which I didn’t even have in my last post and to be honest, Chenault might be a goat ranch but if you want to just skip away to practice on the range or work on your game it is decent. And Mystic is like Squire, in a league of its own.

I don't know where I'd rank it but Louisiana has golf 12 months out of the year, that should count for something.

You can play golf at midnight in Alaska, so they still trump Louisiana for golf.

Midnight in February?

Tennessee is not that great. Some good public courses but spread too far out from each other and all the nice courses are country clubs and difficult to play.

Atlanta's Bobby Jones course in the heart of the city is a great turnaround story.

Baton Rouge is a terrible golf area
BR went through a course closure phase in the last 10-20 years.
Shenandoah
Fennwood
Sherwood
Lower tier BREC courses
Currently in the greater BR region it’s: UClub, Santa Maria, Greystone, Beaver Creek, Coppermill, Carter Plantation, The Island, Webb, LSU and a bunch of meh other BREC courses that survived the purge.
Fancy members only clubs in BRCC and CCLA.

I love Bobby Jones. I think it’s the only good public golf in the city. Feels like everything else is private.
