Pay em.
Watch their jobs vanish.

Awesome. I love oblivious self destruction also known as Leftism.

Let's make it $100 per hour!

The Feds will always bail CA out.

That's exactly why I'm all for it. I want machines to take over.

Indeed.

Nobody can feed a family of 4 on $30/hour.

I support this. I’m enjoying these goobers pricing themselves out of the market.

If the restaurant can afford to pay them 30/hr and still remain profitable, then go for it!
It would be terrible public policy if something like that becomes enshrined as a statewide mandate. That's where California has trended in recent years, and as a result the state has become increasingly disfunctional

If machines do it these crap holes will become much cleaner.

Every McDonalds that I've been in the last few years already have self-service kiosks. The kiosk do not accept cash so there's one or two cashiers to take cash transactions.

I said as soon as they get their $15 and realize the inflation is suddenly so high that they didn't gain a net benefit that they would double down and ask for $30.

And then when THAT causes prices to go up.. they'll want $45... and then $60... and so on.

And they will never understand why they will never make enough money.
Posted on 5/18/24 at 8:24 am to Crimson Wraith
Yeah...they want reparations, too, but that will never happen. But then again, this is California-the land of fruits and nuts!

Why not? The USD is very close to becoming Zimbabwe money.

California's Unemployment rate is the highest at the nation at 5.3% (followed by DC at 5.2%). While the national average has dipped and risen and dipped and risen, it's still over a full percentage lower than the California rate.
What progressives fail to understand is that the price increases come from the rise in the cost of resources and labor is generally the most expensive single resource for most businesses (generally 25%-30% of a business' spending). Raising the Minimum Wage has the downstream effect of increasing both Inflation and Unemployment.

8 years ago my wife and I were both making in the mid 20 per hour range and had 2 kids. We weren't rich but we had what we needed plus extra.
