re: Another Common Sense Gun Law Being Proposed In Illinois

I think the laws should apply equally to everyone, and not just against people that democrats don’t like. If the laws are bad change them; politicians shouldn’t get to pick and choose.

You should never consent to a search. Ever.
But a lot of the time these idiots have stuff laying out in the open. Drugs on the seat, weapon laying of floor or whatever. If it is in the open they should have a right to search.
If a firearm is seen in the open they should be allowed to run the serial number to verify that it isnt stolen (like they do on your car tag). If it doesnt come back as stolen then the firearm should be given back to them.

Do you believe those guys pulled over for a blinker light bulb malfunction should have their personal property rummaged through by the government?
That depends on the situation and the behavior of the driver.

They shouldn't be looking for guns during traffic stops, unless you support gun control.
They can't. Unless guns or drugs are in plain view or there is enough reasonable suspicion to give the police probably cause to search. They can't just "look for guns" at a traffic stop.
One would think but cops always seem to find a way to coerce people who have been pulled over for minor traffic infractions to allow their vehicles to be ransacked.

This is why cops have become enemies to much of the population. Its not their fault, its the retarded politicians who make the laws.
All you have to do is stray from one jurisdiction to the next and you can be fricked by gun laws.
Thats not what I want from government.

They can claim a cell phone looks like a gun and youre fricked.

State's Attorney Kim Foxx has proposed a new plan to not charge gun crimes if the firearms were found during traffic stops for expired license plates, busted turn signals and other minor infractions.
This policy will only apply to hoodrats. Let a white dude with no criminal record get caught with a gun and see what happens to him.

This is all about changing the stats. Nothing else.

Damn, we have far more people wanting gun control on this board than I thought.
Jesus Christ...

Typical “minority crime rates are too high so let’s make crime not a crime anymore. That’ll fix the issue.” – Mindset.
These people are so GD regarded.

To any supporters of gun control.
Do gun laws keep you safe?

Hard to work when they’re hardly enforced to begin with. People get a slap for using a gun or killing someone.
Most police shootings are due to a 3rd strike felon who has a gun and knows he’s going away for life, finally.

Oh we know Foxx made that decision because black people need saving from ultra-extreme MAGA extremist geriatrics on day passes from the nursing home.

Good.
End gun laws. That way the playing field is even.

Good? You support light sentences for violent crimes with a firearm?

Nope. I support heavy sentences for violent crimes.
Not for possessing a firearm.
Are you pro gun control or not?

Should a violent criminal spend less time in prison for stabbing someone than shooting someone?

Domestic or traffic stop.
Send social workers to domestics, end proactive policing and cops will be much safer.
Checking everyone's ID, running backgrounds on everyone in the car for a tail light being out is stupid. Its the opposite of freedom.
