It won a record-tying 8 Critics Choice Awards during this evening's ceremony, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actor. It continues to lead the pack after starting out ahead by dominating last weekend's Golden Globe Awards.

The only blemish for the film this evening was Paul Giamatti beating out Cillian Murphy for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in The Holdovers.

I think this is how the Oscar will go as well. They both deserve it. Poor Bradley Cooper

I love some Cillian but Giamatti was excellent in The Holdovers as well.

Didn’t know this was a thing, but he deserves it considering it was his first professional role and he knocked it out of the park. I hope he at least gets a nomination for supporting.

Don't agree with this at all.

It’s over. The major categories are starting to lock up. This year’s Oscars are going to be super predictable.

I really hope Emma Stone doesn’t win another trophy this year. Poor Things was god awful.

I thought Opp was a monster of movie and deserving of every award but Holdovers really did a number on me.

Hate it for Murphy, turning in a good performance amongst several other good performances, but gun to my head, I’d vote for Giamatti every time.

I didn’t sleep for 2 hours after turning it off at 1 AM. Stuck with me.

Great movie and deserving. Only fault is it is slightly too long.

The correct choice.

Giamatti was phenomenal in that role.

I agree that he was better overall than Murphy, and that is saying a lot. I honestly wouldn’t have been disappointed had Murphy one though.

I wouldn’t have been disappointed had The Holdovers won best picture too, but Opp is Oscar bait.

Holdovers is superior in most ways to Straussenheimer.
