As many have said, Mainieri is a bridge hire. He's got an excellent staff, so if all he has to do is focus on in-game decisions, I think it can work.
Tanner *really* wanted to give the job to Lee, but simply couldn't for a handful of reasons. I think he will turn out to be our Coach O, however, ...

Lots of great Gary Cole roles named in this thread, but his role in Dodgeball is my favorite of his comedic work.
He's also excellent as the tragic protagonist in a small David Duchovny/Demi Moore flick called The Joneses...

Tanner is a wretched AD. He's been able to keep Staley here, but his two football hires have been *meh* at best. Granted, football at USC is very, very challenging, so I'll grade that on a curve. His baseball hires have been atrocious, and ...
