We usually have a few hurricane days. Not as fun, admittedly....
US park is pretty cheap and has online discounts for first time customers.
The coupon has to be used when booking the reservation, not when you leave. Been burned by that before!...
I've read plenty of female authors recently and do not notice an appreciable difference. I do tend to steer clear of anything that tries too hard to inject modern tastes/views into the narrative, so I perhaps avoid some of the ones you are complaining about. I do think there are likely more female...
Not to mention their parks are extremely expensive for families or younger couples. The only people I know who still go are the hard core Disney types....
Almost 30 years ago two attorneys I worked with in Houston who were married had an "open" relationship and had propositioned several other attorneys in the firm and their spouses, but not me. I had no clue....
Folktale Winery & Vineyards is very good for dinner and has beautiful views of surrounding mountains and lost of outdoor seating. Great atmosphere. Wine is pretty good too....

re: When did you hit mid life crisis

Posted by vistajay on 5/15/24 at 10:05 am
Not in the sense of buying expensive toys, but in terms of work I had a mid life crisis in my mid 40s when I needed to decide if I was going to open my own firm or accept an offer to manage the local office of an out of state firm. Opening my own firm was going to be stressful and time consuming, wi...

re: Snorkeling mask recommendations

We got some full face snorkel and mask sets, only about $30 each on Amazon. They worked great and the snorkel does not fill with water when you dive....

Great Raft is also very good. Look for their latest Grace and Grit batch being distributed soon. 7th Tap is awesome but does not get much distribution state wide. ...

Enjoyed the novel back in the day but pretty bored by the first episode of the series. I don't think I'll end up watching the rest....

re: High school reunion

Posted by vistajay on 5/7/24 at 9:01 am
We have them every 5 years, over 2 nights. They are pretty well attended, with about 60-80 out of 200. I planned the last one, and always go. Even though I keep in touch with many of the local alumni, there are always a few people at the reunion I've not seen in decades and am happy to reconnect ...
How would this be enforced? Maybe if they ever go back?...

re: How "Louisiana" are you?

50. I feel like I could eat the few things I've missed on that list if I went to a traditional Cajun country pig butchering and roast....

re: Home made liquors (like limoncello)

Posted by vistajay on 5/2/24 at 11:39 am
I've added rosemary, basil and thyme to my homemade limoncello before, separately not together. The trick was if you are steeping your lemons for one to two weeks, only put in the herb for 3-4 days then remove it. Otherwise the herb will be overpowering....
I found the jump from one to two kids to be huge. I did my part with the first, but my wife was the primary caregiver and I had plenty of "me" time. That went away with the second kid. The remark about switching from man defense to zone is true, but also Dad has to play the whole game now instead of...
I brought the widower neighbor chicken and dumplings and he offered to be the next Mr. Squirrel if something happens to my husband. So I think you may be on to something.
You must be a good cook....

re: USC cancels commencement ceremony

Posted by vistajay on 4/25/24 at 3:37 pm
This is misleading. USC has a bunch of individual graduation ceremonies for each college, such as School of Cinematic Arts or the Business School. USC also gathers together all of the students for a main commencement in its central quad. All this happens on the same day, all over campus. The school ...
