I’m gonna guess someone spilled some kind of mineral or salt at some point. Bout 4 years ago now I went scorched earth dropping little mineral sites around our deer property to see which ones they’d use, only put about 10lbs of salt with the rest of the stuff. I was worried I’d forget where I put th...

The engine supposedly has oil starvation issues at very low RPMs. I’ve never seen it first hand but apparently a couple have blown engines from being paw-pawed....
15 lb braid gives me a headache to think about, but I use whatever small spool of mono I haven’t lost that will fit in my pocket between 14-17lb. Haven’t really found any practical reason to go up or down from there....
Yes, a mono (or flouro) leader will help especially if the braid is lighter or broken in and has lost that waxy feel that gives it some rigidity. I don’t think flouro offers any benefit over mono as a short leader but some will disagree. ...
Holy 2018 bump. I may not be thinking of what yall are calling a wind knot, but I use 14-17lb mono leaders on braid exclusively to keep the braid off of treble hooked and wire baits. The mono has at least some stiffness to it, and I find it’s enough to keep them from getting fouled up. There’s s...
Texas has always got a lake or two that’s producing well. It’s very cyclic, they stock big fish genetics and manage bass intensively, just a matter of keeping up with what lakes are hot. I’m not pulling a boat to the Permian to catch a few fish, but once Ivey is fished out maybe one a little furt...

It’s all personal preference but aside from that, one brand’s medium heavy is gonna feel like a medium to others. That said, medium heavy will give him the option to throw frogs, which every kid should be chunking around a pond....

Dobyns or shimano in 7’ MH fast action, prettymuch a do anything rod. The exprides are awesome rods and chegs usually has them 30% off. ...
Using and sharing cameras has enabled our crew to all get on the same page as far as what we’re shooting, killed a long standing hesitancy to shoot enough does, and has decreased guys getting sensitive over “their” spot when they see that same buck has been to 3 others in the last day. It’s just fun...

I’ve been impressed with the Polaris 1000’s suspension, older I get that’s what I’m willing to pay for, and it eats up windrows without letting up on the throttle. That’s the biggest difference between it and the 570 full size, the power difference isn’t noticable until you really weigh it down, but...
If you want a stupidly good deal... Rmax 4 seater. Great sxs that no one buys.
I know of at least one that got bought, I just can’t justify that much power. People don’t understand what doing 45 in a sxs on a logging road feels like until they’ve done it. ...

Right at 18 with a roof and windshield for the premium trim, but that’s been about a year. You could tell me they’ve gone up or down since then and I’d believe you. It supposedly has a limiter set to 54mph but I’ll never find out, and it will pin you to the seat if you stomp on it. Debated getting t...

What you’re describing doesn’t usually mean a sport model like a teryx, and I’d be wearing of buying a performance machine like that used. In the south they are bought to sink. The “utility” machines in the 1000cc range with CVTs will accelerate and go faster than I care to drive on a sketchy arse lo...
You can make it as complicated or easy as you want. Your results will vary, but if the result is getting your wife off your arse and letting her see how much work keeping one up is, that’s easy to accomplish. Dirt isn’t cheap. You’ll pay way more to fill it than build it. No need to scrape the gr...

re: New Carb, ATV won’t idle

Again, the main jet isn’t the (only) issue if it won’t idle but will run at throttle. These carbs have two jets and control like this: Idle - idle jet, always on, think of this as baseline fuel feed to the motor Anything above idle - needle height, draws more fuel as it lifts with air flow ...

It’s getting fuel from the main jet/needle but not the idle jet. You need to upsize the idle jet. Make sure airflow (aka filter) is how it will be when using the bike. Also run the fuel you will put in it. If the idle jet isn’t seized into your old carb, use that or at least look to see what size it...
