Protective orders were supposed to be available to people (mostly women) who were suffering from physical or sexual abuse. You lose gun rights if you have a PO against you. You can suffer both a contempt finding and a criminal case if you violate them.
Unfortunately, trash now uses them to re...
Wouldn't the proper comparison be 2 for $13 versus 2 for $18???
No. I'm comparing the sale prices. "Buy one, get the second for a penny" means that if the original $8.99 price was still there, you would pay $9 for two. But, they yank the price up to $12.99 just for the sale, s...

re: How do you feel about young NY investment bankers being worked 80-100 weeks?
Posted by chinhoyang on 5/11/24 at 8:52 am
Your typo made me think they would work 80-100 weeks and then get shitcanned.
I work 60 hours a week or more. I first full-time job was an area supervisor for Wendy's. I was 19. I worked 7 days a week, at least ten hours a day because the franchise was opening up new restaurants all the time....

The guy that owned Pearl Vision Centers in Dallas had a place near our family farm. He had a super friendly but very curious brahma bull. If some undesirables asked if they could fish, he would say "sure but beware of my bull as he is very ferocious." He didn't want to tell them "no fishing" and ...

Death penalty
This arrogant, insufferable "my cause is so important that I get to damage or destroy irreplaceable historic treasures" b.s. needs to stop and it needs to be dealt with harshly.
I suspect someone found some elderly nuts and put them up to it....

Brookshire's has cooked beef tips for $8.99 each. THen, when the "buy one, get a second for a penny" sale, they yank the price up to 12.99 so you get 2 for $13 instead of what should be 2 for $9....

I tried to find the COPS video where the cops are going to turn this black teen over to this mother. He begged to be taken to jail. The cops were highly amused.
It is up there with the video where some skell gets caught on a tall fence and is stuck. John Walsh walks over to interview him, and...

Most of the hobo tags are on older boxcars and hoppers - many of which have gone out of service since I've taken my photos. I have not taken a train picture in a couple of years - I may go out and see if I can find any hoto tags on some of the stored boxcars around here.
I have quite a few "TG...

In the early 2000s, I was taking some train photos in Shreveport on a bone chilling day. I was downtown under the Common Street overpass. I hear a woman's voice say "are you a rail aficionado?" I answered "yes." "We're rail riders." They came out and we visited. I went and brought them some...

I used to take a lot of railroad photographs. I would quit taking pictures once the train passed. Then, to pass the time I started taking graffiti photographs.
I wish now I had taken more of the hobo markings on the cars.
This hobo (and another called raildog) seem to have the most comm...

The little marks made by hoboes are interesting. Shoestring's are in the top five for frequency (at least around here).
ETA: The marking was 1992. The photograph was like around 2008.
