To me the turning point was when CJJ said something along the lines of “being surprised by how we didn’t have any reliable arm out of BP except for Herring and he will need to look into it himself”. From that point on, I don’t know what he did behind the scene but it definitely worked and the pitchi...
If Hurd closes the game here, I sense he’s gonna get the Magic Moment of the game callout along with Tommy....
Yeah I sure hope Hurd can prove me wrong here....
Mine was “oh no…” I hope he proves me wrong here. We really need CWS Hurd from here....

Some appreciation for the ump

For being moderately consistent in the strike zone of this series so far, which is not always the case for these SEC umps. I feel like both our pitchers/batters play more confidently/definitively when they know the right call will be made behind the plate and didn’t have to second-guess their strike...
NIL/Portal definitely played a huge role in this since SEC is more competitive than ever. Another factor is the shortened MLB draft and more high school players are making it to college than Minor league. In this environment, you need veteran and MLB caliber players to win consistently in the SE...
Not only did we lose a game that we should have won 9 out of 10 times but we also burned two of our best arms from bullpen and forced CJJ to start Dutton on Sunday. Should have won the series on Saturday. Instead the team showed up flat on Sunday once again....

I mean, it’s almost like he didn’t even anticipate to see a breaking pitch at 0-2 count…sigh ...

Neal for DH?

Posted by VesperiaLSU on 5/8/24 at 10:56 am
Neal's bat apparently is getting hot but his defense is a liability behind the plate. What's the chance that CJJ decides to swap out Travinski at DH to preserve Neal's bat in the lineup with Milazzo catching? I know Travinski has 14 homers and all but I really haven't been impressed with his AB appr...
Very insightful analysis! Thanks for doing it. If this past weekend tells me anything, is that this LSU team has enough talent to win 2 out of 3 against anyone IF they execute on key moments of a game. We’ll just need to see if these Tigers could continue to play loose and confident in a hostile env...

re: White screwed us that inning

His head wasn’t clear during that at bat. He tried to do too much to be a hero while the team just needs him to be a leader....
What’s even worse is a lot of SOs happened with RISP…I fear this one will come back and bite us in the azz....
Not familiar with Auburn’s pitching staff but the guy on Sun has the lowest ERA along w/ most innings pitched....
Really happy for him, and good for the Tigers. We really need his bat and his glove to make a run this late in the season. Braswel's smile after those plays was priceless. He looked like a kid who just got his first out in a little league game ...
His leadership and consistency as a defensive catcher is irreplaceable. You can tell Herring feels very confident throwing his breaking balls because he knows Milazzo will block every single one of them and throw the runners out on 1st. Oh plus, he got on base when needed. What else can you ask ...

I’ll have a big problem with Jay

if Braswel continues to start at SS this weekend....
It’s more about timely hitting than the number of hits. Tenn had 2 homers among those hits and we had none....
