re: Let's Run There...Jeremy Renner
Is it true that running in shoes is worse for your knees? I haven't dug into the science but I remember the craze claiming that with the "barefoot" shoes
No. The barefoot craze led to injuries for most. It’s not bad to run barefoot or in minimalist shoes here and there, but do no...

Good commercial for sure. Depends on how you define number one. Brooks is number one in running shoe sales because they make boring comfortable shoes that people keep going back to and running stores push. Nike and Adidas still own the podiums and overall performance....
Piggybacking on this: my hvac guy recommended I change the furnace filter a while back, so I swapped it with a MERV 11 furnace filter. I’ve also always run MERV 1 return air filters. Haven’t had any issues with my system and it’s 10+ years old now, but is that overkill? Should I ditch the furnace fi...
Mine was built in 2010 so no excuse from the builder imo ...
Yeah maybe not weird per se, just odd given how common generators are in LA. Would think they’d keep the ability to add an interlock or transfer switch in mind when building houses. ...

Same. Mine came with the house and get full sun in the afternoons. Not sure why the previous owner decided on these for that location. Really want to dig them up and replace but not sure what’s a good replacement for a west facing backyard....
Will depend on your panel. Get an electrician to come out or post pictures of your outside and inside panels here and someone can point you in the right direction. My house has a weird panel/sub panel setup where the “main” is outside and houses main breaker and ac breaker, the subpanel is clear ...
Longines Hydroconquest GMT
I thought I wanted that watch until I went look at one in person and tried it on. I like the looks, just didn’t like the weight and how it sat on my wrist. Only other slight knock I had on it is it’s a bit busy. They should ditch the round indices at 6 and ...

re: New Orleans Brunch

Agreed. I love Bearcat but not willing to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes for it. OP, don’t pigeon hole yourself to brunch. Most brunch menus are overrated. ...
John Michael from Superior?
Yeah, same guy. It’s him and the chef from Station 6....
Looking at old pics of Bar Frances, it may not have been that extensive. Biggest costs to my eye would be custom exterior facade, custom bar shelving and lights, new flooring. Not sure if they had to revamp the kitchen too (I’d guess they did); that could add substantial costs....
No clue but I know rent isn’t cheap there and the landlord isn’t good. You’re right about the drinks and desserts. That lemon dessert is so good. I do wish the bar program was more varied vs focus on gin. ...

Go to Russell’s Marina Grill or Outpost 45 instead. ...
I have a little over 100 miles on mine, really like them. Only concern is they may feel a little mushy and warm during the summer. ...
I didn’t measure the first time, but the last two attempts both yielded 30g of espresso at different grind settings, the last taking 25 seconds. I’m using the automatic button on the machine. What should I adjust to get a 1:2 ratio that I think I should be getting?
1:2 is just a guid...

I assume so. Not cheap, but should be good. ...

re: OT parents, snoo yes or no?

We passed on the snoo for fear of attachment. Have heard once you use it and they become accustomed to it, it’s hard to wean off of it. Plus if you travel anywhere, good luck getting your kid to sleep in a regular bassinet. ...

re: Another weed ID

My weed ID app says picture 1 is knapweed and picture 2 is salt marsh aster. Looks closer to salt marsh aster based on Google pics. Edit: upon further googling, actually no clue which it is lol. ...

So, the guy who owns/runs Alinea Coffee here in New Orleans just took 3rd overall at the US Roasters Nationals. I’ve swung by Bearcat Baked on Julia a couple times and had Americanos that were really good. Need to get some beans from him. ...
