You have two major hip flexors right in that area. Rectus femoris and iliopsoas. Could be a minor tear or strain in one of those.
If there is pain when you adduct your leg (but based on the exercise you’re doing, doesn’t seem like so), could be an adductor strain as well. ...

What kind of pain was it? Sometime piriformis syndrome can present like that.

I'm glad to hear it they have squats twice a week. I am seeing lots of strength gain this month on Clean the House. They have back squats and front squats every week....

No it isn't. It isn't done for the most part though.
for me, I can't make the best decision for my daughter or family members when they are sick. I let their own doctors do that.

My dad is a doctor. We weren't allowed to be sick. We went to school no matter what.
My father in law appreciates that I'm a doctor. He gets his carpel tunnel injections on the kitchen table though :lol: ...

This is just my opinion, but the lower the reps the heavier I will go on the first set and then feel it out. Higher reps lower weight.
But I keep a record of it and try to increase it during the month. ...

Deadcember had the best advice IMO. Start with sets of 3 reps. Increase the weight as you go until you can't get 3 and there is your training max. May not be your true 1RM but its...
