re: The last 9 outs are going to be interesting
Posted by BobBoucher on 6/2/24 at 8:58 pm
I say we have the momentum, they left the bases loaded last inning
Seemed like they were threatening more and we had to keep changing pitchers to keep them in check.
Meanwhile our bats cooled a little. I was hoping we’d continue to burn through their pitching. Burned through ...
re: Trump Attorney says "as high and far as we need to, including to the SCOTUS"
Trump’s first chance to challenge the verdict will come within 30 days of his sentencing on July 11
Wait, he has to wait until sentencing to appeal?
FFS - no way this gets overturned by October.
Now we know why Merchan pushed out sentencing. ...
re: Garland places highest level of classified material for Biden’s deposition

This is actually not bad for now. Let him hide his dementia until it’s too late for them to swap out Biden.
A sweet tape drop would be about 2-4 weeks before the election.
Talk about a November surprise ...
re: Should Honeycutt be walked at every at bat?

With runners on - don’t give him anything to hit. If he walks, he walks. ...
re: This dink and dunk shite is so annoying
This type of offense will burn up pitches/pitchers even in a win
Not if you defend it properly. We should have 3 outs. It’s not like we don’t know what they do. ...
re: LSU 13 @ WOFFORD 6 Final - ESPN
3 hole push bunting? I hate this team
When you don’t have a second baseman and you leave a huge hole on the infield - that’s just brilliant coaching.
what a way to throw us off by coming in throwing 70% fastballs, then throwing a lot of breaking balls
I think that’s his change that has that break inside on a righty. That’s a tough pitch.
Our guys were definitely sitting fastball. ...
re: Schiff want the Judge to consider Trump's words in sentencing

And people wonder why this country is so divided.
Republicans know hyperbole well, as does any politician, but Democrats have taken it to a whole new level. ...
re: They are pushing for Nikki

Trump won’t do it. She’s a GOPe Never Trump plant.
She’d be there to blunt his agenda. ...
re: Latest NYP Poll: Trump Flips “Independents” In NY, Narrows Gap With Biden To Single Digits
Posted by BobBoucher on 6/1/24 at 12:16 pm
That is a fairy tale. You are comparing dissimilar things - polls and election results.
Unless the polls intentionally oversampled republicans and independents - then maybe you’re right.
Otherwise - if the sampling was done correctly, I have a hard time believing there’s a 20pt...
re: Latest NYP Poll: Trump Flips “Independents” In NY, Narrows Gap With Biden To Single Digits
Posted by BobBoucher on 6/1/24 at 10:13 am
I doubt Trump can win NY, but just cutting that 22-23 point lead to single digits is a massive accomplishment.
NY, Illinois, and Cali carry the popular vote. If he gets those in single digits, he dominates the popular vote too. ...

Good to know. Just relaying what the talking heads are saying. ...
re: Supreme Court

I heard on Fox that they have to exhaust everything lower first, which could take months or years.
Hard to imagine a court sits on this. But you never know with leftists. ...
re: Update: Trump verdict is in...GUILTY
Posted by BobBoucher on 5/30/24 at 3:59 pm
According to CNN no hung jury - it is a unanimous verdict
If true, that's not guilty all around.
Has to be. Reaching a guilty verdict on a POTUS would have to be bulletproof.
This case is anything but. I think it’s way easier to get to acquittal than guilty. ESP this qui...
re: If Trump is not found guilty he is
Posted by BobBoucher on 5/30/24 at 1:15 pm
That’s what I’m thinking. If so he’ll be retried and tied up in court for another six weeks or so.
This could be a secondary goal of Merchan if not guilty. Get it hung and a redo.
Still a win for Dems. ...
re: The jury asked Judge Merchan to clarify the metaphor he used in his closing instructions
Posted by BobBoucher on 5/30/24 at 1:13 pm
An example like that is often used to explain what circumstantial as opposed to direct evidence is, but usually with snow instead of rain.
It’s hard to get any conviction on circumstantial evidence alone. For a former POTUS - should be no fricking way. any crime evidence and trial s...
Judge Juan Merchan just got exposed for his corruption by the jury,
Interesting if this is what the Jury is saying. Could be a total rebuke of the judge by the jury.
I doubt this is the case. I suspect there’s a handful of jurors who are interpreting this literally, as Merch...
