He would definitely have been a bench player last year but I would think he would have gotten opportunities on this team....

re: So, do we host if we win the SECT?

If we dominate our way through the tourney, it is possible, if not edging towards likely. The chances of not only winning the tourney but doing so in dominant fashion throughout is not very likely, though. I'd settle for getting a 2 seed in an easy bracket...
Yes Hollman. He is gonna have the same amount of rest Jump had. Jump dominated. So can Hollman on 4 days.
While this is a fair point, we needed a pitcher to dominate today as we needed the win today. We're now in double-elimination land, which means he can still be "guaranteed" a ...
MonSTAR Somebody's been bulking
I was saying about midseason that Milam was a few boxes of Wheaties short of being a decent power hitter. He hit a lot of fly balls to the warning track around that time. I guess he's been getting double servings of Wheaties for breakfast. He...

Hering made that more interesting than it needed to be, but got out of it with no damage done. I'll take it. Wonder if they bring him back in the 9th to finish it. Maybe so at this point, but I'd love to tack on a few more runs so Jay can feel comfortable enough to give him a break. ...and M...
No, because it clearly says you can touch either base when you’re going around to second. Again y’all are making it out to be more complex than it is. I think it looks janky but it’s not that complicated.
This. For real. It looks janky, and ideally they come up with something...

Really appreciate all the advice. Kids are all 5+ so hopefully they'll enjoy the midway. They'll definitely enjoy the zoo. They love the BR zoo and Audubon. Will have to make La Jolla a stop as well, I think they would get a kick out of the seals. I'd love to see a padres game but I don't think the ...

re: What are your hobbies

Posted by LSshoe on 5/13/24 at 2:45 pm
Having younguns is definitely a challenge to hobbies. I still manage to get a few in there when I can. I've discovered that I really like to cook (not manufacture dinner, but legitimate cooking) which is a productive hobby as it feeds the fam. I self host a bunch of services using old hardware. Its ...

I meant to ask about the midway museum. I would very much like to check it out, but not sure about the rest of the family. Wasn't sure if it was worth pushing for it. Sounds like a yes....

Kids are under 10 and all into Lego. As are the wife and I if we're being honest. We did Dollywood a few years back and they loved it so I think they should have fun at legoland. What about random wandering areas like old town, torrey pine, little italy, gaslamp quarter, sesame place? Any recs on...
Honestly, yes, I do. The resume of this team shows that they aren't capable of consistently beating top tier teams but anyone below that they've tended to handle fairly easily. If thrown into a regional of a non-national seed they would probably have a close to 50% chance to take it. Should they mak...

Family trip San Diego

Planning a trip to San Diego about a month from now. Have some younger kids and probably wanting to do a vrbo/airbnb just for the sake of separate bedrooms. Looking for recs on areas to stay and whatever other advice y'all world travelers have to offer. Probably gonna rent a car but it would be nice...

Damn, Herring missed his spot BIGtime, but ended up about a perfect spot. Definitely a strike but looked more questionable since it wasn't where he wanted it. I will take it fosho :geauxtigers:...

I don't get the Little hate. He wasn't as sharp as his previous two outings for sure but he got some clutch Ks and mostly weak contact. I thought he was ok tonight. I don't think he really had "it" though, whatever he had the last few weeks. You could kind of see it when he started to get wild th...

If we can get something approximating postseason Hurd plus SOMEBODY, ANYBODY holding down CF from a fielding and plate production standpoint, we're gonna make some serious postseason noise. I'm not confident we'll get one let alone both of those, but one can hope. ...

Guessing, yeah. But I'm assuming they're taking the size and shape of the chest cavity, neck and head, the density of bones and any other relevant information. Based off of that they can probably make a pretty good guess at the pitch. The rest is probably just a guess based off of existing animals....
