As John Ham mentioned get the Toyota Sienna
Picked up a 2011 Sienna with 80,000 in 2014. Still going strong with over 200,000 miles. Minimal maintenance issues including fan blower motor, tune up, Brakes and rotors.
We tried to look at SUV;s but they keep shrinking and minivans fit our needs ...

One thing to consider is the trend of insurance companies to non-renew for older roofs. I currently have a 20 year old architectual shingle roof and I have a lot of granular loss but no hail or wind damage. I half expect my insurance company to tell me they will not renew unless I get it replaced.

If you don't have access to a wet tile saw go get an oscilatting tool at harbor freight and a diamond blade. Tool can be had from 12-$20 if you catch a coupon.

You can use I bonds as an emergency savings vehicle. No tax on interest until maturity. Don't go crazy on savings you are likely getting taxed on interest at your marginal tax rate plus a surcharge of 3.8 percent and state taxes so if you have excess savings you might as well use it for something ...

My folks are both 84 and live 8 miles away now in Georgia having grown up and lived in small town CA and resettling there for most of their adult lives.
My older sister moved out of state about 15 years ago and their adult grandkids were still around. It took me nudging them the last 10 years ...

I have done a fair amount around my houses and growing up when my parents moved or built a house we did a lot of our own landscaping.
Whatever the plants you want cost, you can figure 3-4 times that is what it will cost to get it planted professionally.
Pay attention to the spacing suggested ...
