I have seen a mother set up an interview for her son and then attend said interview. Thankfully, he was not hired......

re: Who else here can’t stand going out to dinner anymore?
Posted by tigergal918 on 6/6/24 at 1:56 pm
My husband is an excellent cook. We've quickly learned that for what it costs the two of us to eat out, we can buy food and cook for us and invite friends over. And so few restaurants in BR are worth the price any more....

We are all from Louisiana, so no doesn't have to be New Orleans. But enough variety, ie - steak and seafood, so that everyone can have options. Price point really isn't an issue. Atmosphere fun, not so loud that we can't enjoy. Good drinks are a plus!...

I liked it. I could of done with a few less f-bombs (don't watch with kids around), but overall it kept me interested enough to binge in one day. The puppets were strange, but did give an interesting twist on the plot....

Group Dinner in New Orleans
Posted by tigergal918 on 6/6/24 at 9:52 am
Looking to take a group of 10-12 ladies out for dinner in New Orleans. We will be there for our annual meeting. We go every year, so I feel like we've run out of anything new. I was looking at Restaurant Rebirth, any thoughts? Also open to any suggestions. Something nice, but not so out there th...

re: Think I've found a perfect place to retire! How about you?
Posted by tigergal918 on 6/3/24 at 3:18 pm
Literally just booked a cabin for my husband and I in Blue Ridge, GA in July. I can see us ending up there. We also loved Greenville, SC after a visit a few years ago. It will depend on where our kids end up, of course, but none of us want to stay here!...
re: Mosquitoes and is there any real way to control them?
Posted by tigergal918 on 6/3/24 at 3:14 pm
We are right outside Baton Rouge and use a service called Mosquito Joe. We have two acres and a pond and they were unbearable (I'm allergic) They come a treat every 3 weeks. I can sit outside with no repellent on now. It's even more effective if you can get your neighbors on board too....
re: How do you deal with gratitude not changing perspective?
Posted by tigergal918 on 6/3/24 at 10:21 am
Yes I absolutely get this. I get paid more than I should, have company car, pension, and 401k. Very little stress. But some days I just want to do something that is meaningful and I want to feel useful. But then I remember I'm on track to retire at 60 and I feel better, lol......

re: Is this a productive response to a female partner, or would it cause a fight?

About 5 years into our 20+ marriage, my husband learned that it's best to ask...are you asking for help towards a solution or do you just want me to listen? I tell him and the majority of the time it works!...

re: Where would you rank sex in the greatest things life has to offer?
Posted by tigergal918 on 5/23/24 at 11:49 am
I was thinking the same thing madamsquirrel! Husband & I are both early 40s. Sex life is honestly best it’s ever been. I did take it upon myself to get on hormone therapy after early perimenopause. We don’t typically go more than three days or so. If I thought he’d rather take a good poop than have ...

We use a local service in the Baton Rouge area called Mosquito Joe. We have a four-acre pond and they were so bad you couldn't even open the back door at night. They spray every three weeks. Now we can sit outside without even using bug spray. I'm allergic to them, so...Worth.every.penny....
