re: Debt-To-Income Ratio - What’s typical in todays world?
Posted by Bermuda99 on 10/26/23 at 8:10 pm
Yes it is. The minimum payment on any credit card is part of the calculation. ...
re: Mortgage rates with a 780ish credit score?
Posted by Bermuda99 on 3/5/23 at 4:28 pm
If rates drop below 5% it’s going to be a feeding frenzy again. Pick your poison. ...
re: LA & San Diego must do’s
Posted by Bermuda99 on 3/1/23 at 7:34 pm
Extend your stay in SD. If I didn’t have family in LA I would definitely never go back. ...
re: Greenville, SC recommendations
Posted by Bermuda99 on 2/9/23 at 12:06 pm
I have lived in Greenville since 2014. It did used to be pretty cheap to live here, and then COVID hit. The last time we paid rent was late in 2019-$995 per month for a 2 bedroom apartment about 6 miles out of downtown. That same apartment is currently going for $1600. It’s still not bad, but I thin...
re: Question regarding adding spouse to property
Posted by Bermuda99 on 1/20/23 at 3:47 pm
I used to work for a mortgage lender and my job included dealing with your specific scenario. I don’t know specifically about Louisiana, but in almost all states you can add her to the deed so it is both of your names (joint tenants with a right of survivorship). Leave the mortgage in your name. If ...
re: Got quoted for moving a washer/dryer set upstairs
Posted by Bermuda99 on 12/8/22 at 6:58 pm
It’s unbelievable. We got a quote to do a partial renovation of our kitchen which was mainly taking out a non load bearing wall between kitchen and living room. Keeping all appliances and 80% of the cabinets and adding a 5 foot island. $42k. Planning on saving for a down payment and moving in a few...
re: Is a 40 minute layover for an international flight doable in Houston?
Posted by Bermuda99 on 12/1/22 at 7:08 pm
I wouldn’t, they usually close the aircraft doors about 30 mins before departure for long haul international. I would never book anything less than a 1.5 hour connection for long haul but that’s just me. ...
re: Theres nearly 1.6 million Realtors and rumor is 800K have not closed a deal in 8 months
Posted by Bermuda99 on 11/11/22 at 1:21 pm
When you wrote this did you really expect people to believe it ? Does 25-30 per month sound realistic to you ? ...
re: Car Insurance Renewals...
Posted by Bermuda99 on 11/7/22 at 5:33 pm
I just switched from GEICO to Progressive. GEICO just kept hiking rates every time. Progressive was 35% cheaper for the same coverage, and home insurance was $50 cheaper on the year for better coverage. I’ve never bothered to shop around but enough was enough. ...
re: Capital One 360 Performance Savings - UPDATE: 4.35% APY as of 12/11/23

Capital one just went from 2.35 to 3%. ...
Sad but true. The average new car transaction price in august was $48,301. The average American salary in Q2 2022 was $54,132. What a world we live in, people are up to their eyeballs in consumer debt. ...
re: Home Remodels over the next few years
Posted by Bermuda99 on 10/4/22 at 6:46 pm
I don’t think so. Congratulations to anyone that renovated before Covid. We just had estimates to do a partial remodel of our kitchen and living room, and to build a covered porch off the back of the house, and they were absolutely outrageous. ...
re: What % of your income goes to Mortgage?
Posted by Bermuda99 on 9/27/22 at 10:34 am
21% of net income. ...
re: Jet Blue to Heathrow?
Posted by Bermuda99 on 9/27/22 at 8:42 am
How much cheaper ? I would much rather a direct than connecting. The more flights, the more chances of a delay. ...
re: AC Unit Pricing
Posted by Bermuda99 on 9/16/22 at 7:15 pm
Terrible comment. A 20 year old unit will need to be replaced almost immediately. 5 year old is good. Any buyer/realtor with a pulse knows that. ...
re: Switzerland recommendations
Posted by Bermuda99 on 8/15/22 at 5:38 pm
I second Wengen. Been a few times. Wengen always felt like the most convenient location- you can get to all the other locations (Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Murren, Kleine Scheidegg) pretty easily from Wengen, and it’s half way up so has great views. We always stayed at the Alpenrose hotel, but the ...
re: Japanese Knotweed
Posted by Bermuda99 on 7/30/22 at 4:20 pm
If you have this stuff in the UK you are unable to sell the house/get a mortgage. I would be very surprised if the builder decided to put it in. ...
re: ATT has to be a screaming buy Yes No?

Garbage organization, wouldn’t go near it in any capacity. ...
re: Home Add On
Posted by Bermuda99 on 7/18/22 at 2:40 pm
In the same boat with the moving scenario. I think at least $80k for the add on if it includes a bathroom. ...
re: Two days in Scotland - Any recs?
Posted by Bermuda99 on 7/11/22 at 6:11 pm
Definitely Edinburgh over Glasgow. That is a good amount of time to explore the city and surrounding area. ...
