re: What are your hobbies

Seems like you first need to develop some time management skills. Even with kids, wife and a typical job, there is an hour or two daily that you can disengage from the family and take care of yourself. First thing is I do with any free time is some sort of exercise. Over the years that's been ru...
I was the son he never had
Great story. My ex-FIL and I got along great. When my ex and I would visit him, he and I would gather around the kitchen table in our tshirts, sip bourbon, play cards and listen to old country music for half the night. He left me all his tools / toolboxes...

Doesn't sound like you will miss work. I won't either. I'm about to retire next month myself so I'm fixing to find out. Like you I'm not the most engaging person at work. I'm not a cube/office hanger. When we were in the office, few people stopped by just to talk. I did have the good fortun...

Of course it can. Anything is possible. IMO, to do so, you'd have to fix two things: 1. Re-invent Education system --- Primary and secondary education...make it so good that like other top states, private schools will more or less cease to exist --- Make universities world class research or...

One the fam all remembers well was in Belize: Zip line across the mountaintops ending down into a cave, canoeing a river that goes underground, then burritos in a native camp (where I discovered Marie Sharp's hot sauce). A great day. ...
are still possible hunting grounds.
As are the large "unhoused" communities in every city. Based on history, we'll be hearing about some prolific killer that lurked as a homeless person and slayed people at random for years. And no-one noticed. ...

If you're in Winchester Zillow has a number of new builds for around 400k w 3 beds 2 baths if you must have new. If I were you I'd do 1 of 2 things: buy one of the 300k older home I saw there and pay it off ASAP. Then rent it and you build / buy your forever home. OR, I'd do like a previous poste...

I'm guessing you're in Winchester, VA. Great place to live. But it's not that far from NoVa so sure it's more expensive. I live between Richmond and Fredericksburg. You have to get in county south of Fredericksburg (like Caroline) to really see prices not getting the DC / NoVa impact. I see you ...

I've just told them from when they were little that if they go to college, they must get a STEM degree. Or its trade school or the Marines. So the older one is a freshman in college working on a BS. The younger one (Jr in HS) is damn determined to play football in college so I guess he's goi...

I've been to a few. Have had a good time at each catching up with people. I'll admit it is a bit of an ego boost knowing I'm basically in the same shape (while very few others are) and the kudos I get from people that experience me and my hot wife's excellent dancing skills. ...
