We used to get plate lunches from Sassy's in Montrose, not sure if they still offer that. Took my folks to Wrights in Rogers last weekend. The wait and portions were not worth it ...

Diatomaceous earth is good for getting ticks, fleas, etc off. I rub my dogs down with it and then wash them with a flea/tick wash the next day ...

I prefer Truman to Lake of the Ozarks. Table Rock is a great fishery but the Branson side is over run with rental boats (its also $$$). You can't actually live on Ouachita due to USFS owning the land down to the white line. My folks live on Greers and they enjoy it. Weekends and holidays ca...

I live under an hour from the KS border and duck/upland hunt on my neighbors farm near Emporia,KS yearly.There is no ice fishing I'll be breaking ice for my stock the next few months...

Bring a life jacket and waders if you want to ice fish in Kansas or Nebraska. You admittedly haven't experienced a real winter since you were a child, let the people who deal with sub zero temps decided this....
